Happy UN-Birthday 39ers MARCH 2020

Color My World!

MARCH 39ers – Awaken to your inner child (who never ages past “39”!) and rediscover the fun and beauty of coloring your world.

How long has it been since you added accents in bright colors to your home décor or wardrobe? 2020 is a breakout year—notice nature around you and consider a bright new favorite color to symbolize a vibrant new you.

It’s MARCH – month of green for St. Paddy’s Day and a symbolic color for the First Day of Spring! (March 19th) Maybe choose shades of green to refresh your soul and enjoy *As Young As You Feel Day

Along with Your UN-Birthday ~ Happy MARCH Celebrations

It’s National Noodle Month – Let’s eat! But wait, before you
head out to celebrate at your local pasta place, what color outfit will you wear? Yes, this month, it’s important!
Many believe color is a way to uplift and change your life, swirling hand-in-hand with healing your body, mind, spirit and soul. Just ask the folks at Aura House who introduced National Color Therapy Month.
So far as I know, though, there are just two colors of the yummiest treat on earth … brown and white … I would be UN-American if I didn’t include this celebration of yumminess, American Chocolate Week, from the 15th to the 21st. Chocolate.org even pairs our two favorite tastes in the world … chocolate and potato chips! It’s in their Spring Collection. Mmmmmm!

March 17th: Of course, we all know this is the favorite day of Irish Americans, but did you know we now have St.Patrick's Day TREES?! Yep … just like decorated Christmas firs, except all green and gold and … well, anything you like, and top it with an emerald green top hat, or a big glittering clover.
And think about it, your faux Christmas tree could become a permanent part of your indoor décor … decorating it for every Holiday! After St. Paddy’s Day, we have Easter … Memorial Day … 4th of July … and ooh, just think about the fun possibilities for Halloween! Spooky …

March 21st: International Colour Day – Although this is a viable special day and associated with the International Colour Association, there are no notably unique celebrations, except that which you might create! More than 30 countries represented in the ICA voted to establish this day in 2009, to celebrate all colors of the visual spectrum and black. Yes, you can wear all of the clothes in your closet at once!

March 22nd:
*As Young As You Feel Day! You would think this day was created specifically for 39 and Holding Club. Since it was established, no identifying link appears to claim it. Finders – keepers! Actually, I’m contacting Brownielocks (my fave Holiday & commemorative calendar) to see if we can claim it with our page link because …
Back in 2015 I found a fun film with the same name. Call it 39AHC’s symbol of happy longevity. If you’re a black-and-white movie buff, or simply love good ol’ movies from way back, As Young As You Feel is a pure delight, with a budding young actress who became a true “idol.” Read all about it here … and click the link to watch the movie on YouTube.

March 31st: National Crayon Day – And to top off the month, who came up with fun ways to use color way back in 1903?? Crayola of course. So let’s enjoy the day with our inner child and color the world our way!

For 39ers who Follow the Stars
Sensitive and compassionate Pisces (Feb 19-Mar 20) dances with the daring and  fiery Aries  (Mar 21-Apr 19) as March UN-birthday 39ers herald the seasonal change from winter doldrums to bright spring.
If you know a Pisces, you’ve likely experienced the watery emotions of the fish, deep and sometimes murky. Take heart … March is cosmic and energetic for Pisces and moods lighten up as the month progresses, urged along by great social connections.

As for Aries, well … look out. We know Aries is strong and capable, but this month they’re a business dynamo to be reckoned with. Excelling on a professional level for most of the month, they march straight through the Ides of March feelin’ the love, too. (Is it you?)

Pisces finds its light green Zodiac color peaceful and healing, and though passionate red is attributed to Aries, no doubt Kelly green would make a terrifically appropriate accent!

Happy UN-Birthday 39ers March 2018

March Doesn’t Stop After the 17th!

It doesn’t?! Now you tell me.

With St. Patrick’s Day smack-dab in the middle of the month, much of early March is prepping for parties and searching for little green men (leprechauns), a pot o’ gold, and your heritage, for a smidgeon of Irish. Which most of us have, no matter where we’re from; or at least that’s what we’re going to claim.

Why? Because everyone loves a party! While we certainly don’t want to stereotype anyone, I can speak from family experience (starting with Grandpa Connelly) that the Irish can party with the best. Just don’t want to make it your worst! Let’s create a fun new memory, not a viral meme.

If you’re a new 39er, ask your parents if they remember …

39 Years Ago this Month ~ MARCH 1979
March 10: What craziness is this?! Legendary Soul/Rocker James Brown performs at the iconic Country venue, Grand Ole Opry! Per a Rolling Stone flashback article (2015): “Brown would later insist that he was a lifelong country music fan and that he had been ‘treated like a prodigal son’ during his Opry appearance, considering it a high point of his entire career.” …RS referenced the Augusta Chronicle “… which once quoted Brown as saying. ‘Country music really is just the white man's blues.’”
March 14: Many Broadway musicals have attempted film adaptations but when big screen audiences flocked to the release of Hair  in theaters, its anti-war premise was as relevant in 1979 as the height of the musical’s popularity in 1969. The title song hit radio charts where it landed at #5 on Sacramento’s KROY Top 60 (May ’69). The writers and composer of the Broadway musical were not pleased with the film adaptation and still maintain that an acceptable big screen version of Hair has not yet been written.
March 19: No one had heard of “fake” news in 1979. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t there. You want real news? Noting the need for news direct from the horses’ mouths, C-SPAN, Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network, based in Washington D.C., debuted on this day 39 years ago. Get the scoop—go there!

For 39ers who Follow the Stars
Pensive Pisces (Feb 19-Mar 20) and airy Aries 39ers (21st thru April 19th) march grandly through the month, step-dancing to their own drumbeat.

Lighten up Pisces it’s your month to party! You feel everyone else’s pain; but there is only so much you can do. Empathize or sympathize, whichever is your strength, then take care of yourself.

While we appreciate Pisces’ help, let’s applaud the valiant and audacious Aries—always ready to grab the bull by the horns. With success the likely outcome, we can forgive their extremes and enjoy their energy.

Aging with ATT-i-tude Platitude
May your troubles be less, your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your door!

One thing we Irish know, is how to play! Balance your work with play and lots of laughter, because … Age is a number … LIFE is ATT-i-tude!TM

Happy UN-Birthday MARCH 39ers,

March 39ers ~ Marching Arm-in-Arm

Marching Arm-in-Arm Down the Aisle

It’s so tempting to stagger through the months of a new year … January – New Year’s Day; February – Valentine’s Day; March – St. Patrick’s Day

Ah yes, March 39ers – we made it to the month when wearing green is cool and Guinness makes more $$ than any other month of the year.

Pensive Pisces (Feb 19-Mar 20) and airy Aries 39ers (21st thru April 19th) are proud to march through the month to their own drumbeat. But smart couples fresh off the Valentine cruise, will march down the aisle in March and save a small pot o’ gold.

Considered an “off” month for weddings, it was still no surprise when the young couple in our family announced their engagement at Christmas, and impending nuptials in March. Why?

After all, with their most common clan name of Murphy, what better month to share family hugs and lots of Irish kisses? No doubt, the reception will see a Guinness or two toasts, with twisted tongues.

But there is much to celebrate before and after the popular Celtic holiday … feel free to explore

Marching through the Ides of March

It’s so tempting to blindly follow the calendar to extoll the virtues of another month … January – New Year’s Day; February – Valentine’s Day; March – St. Patrick’s Day

Not to slight my Irish heritage, but I like to shake things up and there are other important, yet lesser known commemorations in March: First Day of Spring (20th) and Palm Sunday (29th) of course, but let’s not omit …

Yummy! Oreo Cookie Day (6th); 39AHC’s most special As Young as You Feel Day (22nd); and every single-family dwelling resident’s fave (this one’s for you, Ron!), Weed Appreciation Day (28th). *Yes, these are real and “official” celebrated days.

All right, Club 39ers, now that we’ve set the scene, let’s get on with March birthdays!
