July 39ers Love Fun in the Sun!
Happy UN-Birthday JULY 39ers! ♪ And many more… ♪ July's hot news and notes are here!
We start with celebrating 39ers’ July UN-birthday stars, Cancer and Leo, then skip through the middle of summer with something for everyone who's "Aging with ATT-i-tude"!
We
hum a little tune and think about National Baked Beans Month, which really goes
well with National Hot Dog Month, while we gaze at the artistry of World
Watercolor Month! Hope you’re having fun in the sun and if you need a little
break, c’mon in, the water’s fine!
Celebrating JULY 39ers ~ And More!
For 39ers who Follow the Stars
This month Cancer (06/21-07/22) 39ers, will likely be filled with extreme highs and moderate lows. Although July begins on a bright, high note with the New Moon (5th), you should find it tempering down by the third week. How far down depends on whether you get sucked into personal pettiness or not. Stay above the fray Cancerians, and you’ll be fine. Hey Leo (07/23-08/22) 39ers, quick heads-up. Your professional life may be a little tricky this month, especially from the 15th through 20th, when your challenge could come in not thinking through and exploring all options. Remember, devil’s in the details. But your social life will be a blast! Get your calendar out and start filling in the squares, as the last half of July could heat up, and not just in temperatures.
For Cancer and Leo friends, lovers and families … be especially aware of the Cancer/Leo 39ers on the mid-month cusp. They may need your help. Be sympathetic, but firm … together, you can work out the best path forward. Most of all, help them celebrate, no matter which 39er UN-birthday has arrived!
To
quote my sometimes crass, but endearingly entertaining Irish Grandpa C, “Beans,
beans, the musical fruit. The more you eat, the more you toot. The more you
toot, the better you feel, so let’s have beans for every meal!” LOL Yep, it’s National
Baked Beans Month!
Of course, my mother admonished
him for teaching me that little ditty way before I was old enough to know what
it meant. But seriously, you likely know by now that beans are a great source
of protein and truly good for your digestive system. Enjoy!
And, what goes great with beans? National
Hot Dog Month*, of course. And for dessert? National Ice Cream Month! Though there
are no official links for these monthly celebrations, we really don’t need any,
do we? But I still found a couple that might be worth your look-see. We already
know how to make a fun living room or backyard picnic with hot dogs.
Afterwards, whip out the art paper and watercolors for a relaxing afternoon of
creative expression in World
Watercolor Month. There. You’re set for the summer.
July 17th: *If you’re wondering which day of this month to scarf down some yummy hot dogs, it’s today! National Hot Dog Day is here—but it’s always on a Wednesday—so give yourself a mid-week break and enjoy!
July 21st: Are you ready for some Full Moon Magic? The Full Moon signifies a time of glorious culmination. It’s the perfect time to wind things up to a satisfying conclusion. If fully completing a project is not yet an option, that’s okay. However, it is still best to take a breather—create an interim pause, and let it marinate a few days before forging ahead—or even until the next New Moon to begin again.Known as the Full Buck Moon, give it some thought as you link the antlers of a buck that shed and grow more impressive every year, to your projects that can benefit from shedding a little skin and resting, before beginning another growth cycle.
July 24th: Oh yay! I get to celebrate one of
my favorite people in the whole world—and he’s a relative! This is Cousins Day! Imagine
that. Sadly, there is not an official link so if you ever wanted to know how
you get to “second cousins” and beyond, I’ve included a WIKI link. But I pick
up on this day every year, ‘cause I love the opportunity to call my cousin for
a few moments of shared jubilation.
I’ve always said that I have been
blessed with great relatives and RJ is definitely a prime example. We’re
as close as I was with my brothers and since they’re both gone, he is my
lifeline to family sanity. Just a year apart, while he “gets to be” older, at
our age, I love being younger. Gives me the upper hand at this stage of life.
As cousins, we can share the family gossip without being directly involved.
Perfect! Fortunately, we share similar religious, political, and humanity
viewpoints … most of all, he knows I’m always right. LOL So if you have one or
more of these wonderful family members in your life, give yourself some time
off and give ‘em a call today.
July 25th: Ya know, 39ers, you could combine Cousins Day and Wine and Cheese Day! Great opportunity to enjoy both. Although the sponsored link is a tad outdated, I reviewed the rest of the McClain Cellars site and found a current blog that you may enjoy, along with your wine and cheese. I especially resonated with Jason McClain’s “Four Pillars of Life.” Maybe you will too. Their wines are a tad on the pricey side for my elder budget, but for today, the wine you can afford and a good cheese dish is all that’s needed! Best wine and cheese pairings …
July 26th: Where ya going today? Do ya need a
“lift”? It’s National
Talk in An Elevator Day! Okay … I know this day is sponsored by the largest
elevator company in the world—known as vertical transportation systems—but you
have to admit, they’re largely overlooked in daily life.
Until recently, I have not had the
experience of daily elevator rides—they are truly a unique form of
communication combined with a necessary mode of human transport. Before moving
to a pseudo-high rise apartment (14 floors), I never gave them much thought in
the sporadic lifts of visiting large stores, hospitals, or other vertically
challenging buildings. Now, speaking from experience, I realize our multi-floor,
daily-use elevators are a gossip lifeline and community chat center. It’s
fairly safe to assume the “30-second elevator pitch” is not just a promo cliché.
Paperback / black & white … Paperback in collectible color … ♪♪♪ Monthly Song of Note Looking for a “sunny” summer song, I spotted Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” Though sentimentally poetic, the lyrics are confusing in my humble opinion—is it a love song or a goodbye song?—I chose it for this month’s Song of Note, as it begins its trek back down the chart list from a high of #8 to #11 at WOKY/Milwaukee—for the second time. Did the station’s listeners suffer from sun stroke when they voted it back up to #5 for the following week? Don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen. Something for you to contemplate as you have fun in the sun! ... More tuneful tidbits to manifest your memories of 1974 and keep the Rock Rockin’ from 50 Years Ago this Month!

And dear readers, I just want you to know that I try my best to create an informative, aesthetically creative article for you each month. However, Blogger is not a professional hosting site—but they’re free through Google. So we’re stuck with their crummy platform that doesn’t work well to manipulate images with writing, if you aren’t a techie who knows HTML. Trust me, I’ve tried for years to write articles without gaps between paragraphs and even between sentences. Sigh. Maybe I’ll win the lottery and be able to afford a professional hosting site someday. Cheers!
